Netflix, hmmmm...🤔
So, I didn't have anything to post, except that I have suited action to words by dipping my toes in cryptocurrency investing.
Its....whew. Its different...
I'll let you know if I ever understand. Any of it.
That's a digression though. I have, obviously, been interested in Coinbase as an investment, so it stood to reason I should begin there, though I am sufficiently non-conformative by nature that it was genuinely an effort not to choose a competitor simply for the sake of good consumerist pro-competition policy. This, however, is now an outlet, or a platform, whathaveyou, however small, which means that, instead of a consumerist decision, it is a business decision, and as such, one of those, 'take the win' sort of dovetails that keeps branding and (should there be occasion) billing straightforward.
Its just disorienting. I've been a student and an employee for so long, though I know perfectly well, by observation and interest, how it is done, it is a strange sensation being pulled in these ways that one knows are right and appropriate to a general consumer, but knowing one must go the opposite. Its maybe a little like showing up in gym class when you know you'd rather be in drama. I actually did the opposite, chose floor hockey over the school play, though perhaps, in hindsight, the business decision, back then, would have been to keep letting them typecast me, because ultimately, the big boss villain does kindof get paid...
It wasn't that explicit, it was a schedule crunch, but I was the villain the year before, my first year old enough to even be in the play, and it was the villain, not the hero and that may have made the difference in my choice to just be a jock and be cool. Or try.
YEEEEE-annnywho. Its disorienting.
So I started with Coinbase, realized belatedly that they were, of course, charging me for every trade, and so have tried to chill out, selecting some and perhaps checking on them a few times a day. It is unfortunate, however, that the markets seems to move on a much faster pace.
But Coinbase does not trade Dogecoin. Wait, really? FML. How do I buy Dogecoin? There's something about a wallet, but that's for transferring it, not buying it with cash. Ohhh! There's other merchants that do trade it, but Coinbase does not, don't know why, I'm sure it has to do with who gets how much trading fees. Robinhood trades it.
In all honesty I was resistant to buying it through Robinhood, because I feel like that's a whole other...deal...I have to dive into, study, learn the ropes and then eventually get on top of. And it is, I mean that it has turned out to be. Nevertheless, it seems to be the most straightforward way to buy Dogecoin, today, in 2021, so there I found myself, scrolling a news feed curated by Robinhood.com, and here is what it showed me:

Netflix Stock Slide Offers Perfect Buying Opportunity, Analysts Say
Eric J. Savitz, Barrons• Last Updated April 21, 2021, 7:54 AM
Netflix shares are skidding Wednesday...but most of the commentary on the stock is bullish...
So that's not confusing, right? Don't worry, I'm not confused, I canceled my Netflix subscription less than an hour after I first heard they were 'considering' cracking down on password-sharing. If I'm there, its one thing, I'm a very decisive person, as may be evidenced by my moves into crypto. But if I'm there and it turns out a lot of other people are there, well that says a lot because, as noted above, I am so non-conformative that it is unusual for my taste to agree with the plurality.
Sure enough, what do we find, farther down the feed?

Wait. Really? Netflix doesn't see competition as an obstacle? The company that, as you read this has a documentary trending in its library about the obsolescence and fall of its once titanic competitor.
Sell Netflix. Just sayin'.
